Canaan Valley Resort has upgraded programs, new entertainment, and a revised rate structure that will take a bit of the pinch out of budget tightening.
Value Season runs from opening through Dec. 25, and March 9-22. During Value Season, and weekdays during Prime Season, lift ticket rates are $30 for adults and $22 for children. Prime Season runs Jan. 1 - March 8, 2009. During prime season weekends, the Christmas week holiday, Martin Luther King weekend, and Presidents' weekend, the lift ticket rate is $49 for adults and $44 for children.
"For more than 35 years, Canaan Valley Resort has been a favorite for families who love winter sports and who want to spend time together in a fun-filled atmosphere," said General Manager David Bostic. "We're proud of that reputation and we're constantly looking for ways to make sure we stay one of the best winter vacation values on the East Coast."p
Guests at Canaan Valley Resort will find a bigger terrain park, said Bostic. "We're incorporating a full-range of obstacles and features that will add to the fun of skiing or boarding."
Additionally, Canaan continues to be one of only a few resorts in the country to offer snow body boarding. "It's a great winter sport because anyone, regardless of age, can enjoy the experience with only an hour of instruction," said Bostic.
The resort also has enhanced its emphasis on skiing instruction for children and adults. Child and junior learn-to-ski programs are available through the resort's ski school with private and group lessons.
The resort's Kidz Korner program is available for children ages 2-6, and allows parents to enjoy some time on the slopes while their children are being entertained safely indoors.
Family entertainment programs are a hallmark of the resort's weekend packages, Bostic said. This year, the American Mountain Theater will host music and comedy review performances Jan. 24, 25, and 31 and Feb. 7, 14, and 28.
