It's not just one ski resort, or one corporate giant, that is experiencing one of the best Decembers in memory. The good news is coming from all quarters of the East - Quebec, New England, elsewhere in the Northeast, and the Mid Atlantic.
It may be a less rosy picture coming from the Northwest, but along the Eastern Seaboard resorts are covered in snow.
Intrawest, which owns resorts across Eastern North America, reports the most phenomenal snow conditions in recent history.
Andy Wirth, chief marketing officer at Intrawest, said, "A favorable combination of natural snow and cold temperatures suitable for snowmaking is providing the best possible early season conditions at Snowshoe Mountain (West Virginia), Tremblant (Quebec), Stratton Mountain (Vermont), Blue Mountain (Ontario), and Mountain Creek (New Jersey).
"This season, we are well ahead of schedule with excellent snow conditions and one of the strongest openings in years for our eastern ski resorts, We are experiencing historic levels of natural snow that continues to accumulate throughout the region along with cold temperatures enabling our snowmaking equipment to operate around the clock. With new trails opening every day, our resort guests have the opportunity to enjoy exceptional early season conditions at some of the most desirable ski resorts in the region," Wirth said.
Wirth said all Intrawest resorts are offering deals and discounts on vacations, to complement the exceptional early season snow conditions.
