Wyoming's Snow King Resort hosts not just one, but four different parties to usher in the New Year. The evening's festivities launch outside. A glowing torchlight parade snakes down from the top of the mountain, and fireworks burst into showers overhead. The parade begins at 6:15 p.m. and the fireworks follow at 7 p.m.
The resort then hosts four different evening New Year's events. Pick the party of your choice.
The SKR Party is claimed to be the largest party for the 21-year-old and up crowd in Jackson Hole. Live music by Kid Epic and DJ Therapy starts at 8 p.m. in the Grand Room. Entry costs $20 per person; you can purchase appetizers, cocktails, beer, and wine. It culminates in a balloon drop at midnight.
Those looking for something more exclusive should get VIP Access to The Lounge. The $50 per person admission includes hosted hors d'oeuvres all evening and a champagne toast of Moet and Chandon White Star. Your entry also includes admission to the SKR party.
Families can head to the New Year's Eve Bistro Buffet from 6- 9:45 p.m. The buffet includes carved roasted leg of pork and turkey breast as well as Caesar salad, barbecue meatballs, pasta salad, pot stickers, and a veggie tray. The buffet costs $25 for adults and $15 for kids.
Those looking for dining with a view can head to Rafferty's to view the torchlight parade and fireworks from their table. The menu varies with a la carte items.
Call the Atrium at (800) 522-KING to make reservations for both the dinner buffet and Rafferty's.
