Nearly 30 years ago, Telluride became the first Colorado resort to conduct women-specific ski camps and clinics.

They're still going strong.

This season Telluride will conduct three Women's Week Camps, which are three- to five-day sessions conducted by women instructors, in late January, mid-February, and early March. Not only do attendees get quality coaching and video analysis, but heir choice of off-hill diversions such as stretch classes, shopping night, wine and chocolate tasting, spa night, receptions, and celebration dinner.

The first camp is scheduled for Jan. 21-22, and geared for all level of skiers and beginner to intermediate snowboarders and telemarkers (top-of-the-line complimentary equipment is included).

The second one is slated to run from Feb. 8 through 12, and is aimed at all levels of skiers.

No. 3 in the series is set for March 1-5, and again is suitable for all levels of skiers.

There are various pricing schedules for the camps, which has an "Our Favorite Things" theme this season:  The January session goes for $490 ($650 with lift tickets);  the February and March clinics are priced at $660 ($820 with lift tickets).

You can save money on the packages by bringing friends: One companion earns you a 10 percent reduction, two companions is 15 percent off, three is 20 percent off, four to nine buddies is 30 percent off, and if you bring 10 gal pals the sessions are on the house.
