Singles ski holiday specialist, Friendship Travel, has a special initiative for single skiers and boarders who are keen to enjoy a skiing break at a bargain price - but are reluctant to holiday alone.
The company is highlighting week-long "house party" holidays at the Chalethotel Toviere in Val d'Isere - an intimate little hotel of which they have exclusive use - reduced in price for seven nights starting 11 January.
The revised cost of £645 per person - saving £50 - includes return flights from Gatwick, transfers, half-board accommodation (with afternoon tea and wine with dinner), and services of a host. Flights are available from Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, and Edinburgh, supplements may apply.
This small and friendly property, with its laid back atmosphere, has a cosy bar and lounge - complete with roaring log fire - and is situated just opposite the piste. The Funival lift takes skiers to the slopes in just four minutes for those who fancy going further afield.
For a spot of après ski, there's a free shuttle bus just 50 metres from the hotel so guests can reach the bright lights and buzzy nightlife of the resort in just five minutes.
Visitors attending the special week will be in Val d'Isere just a few weeks before more than 100,000 spectators arrive to attend the 2009 Alpine World Ski Championships in the resort between the 2nd and 15th of February, completely free of charge.
All 100,000 who have expressed their desire to attend the races will be able to watch them at no charge as guests of Savoie Mont Blanc Tourism. Some will travel by train as guests of the Rhône-Alpes region in association with French National Railways (SNCF) and by transfer coach as guests of Savoy County Council.
