Lugging packed ski or snowboard bags with you as you travel by air to your favorite holiday destination always has been something of a pain. Now that most airlines are now docking passengers an extra 25 bucks or so for each piece of luggage being checked in, those gear bags take on a greater nuisance value.

Aspen has come up with an affordable option to help cut down on some of that: The resort has joined forces with UPS to create Aspen/Snowmass Luggage Express.

Guests can save from $50 to $300 or more over other shipping programs depending on the number of bags being checked, the weight of the bags, and where they are being shipped from, all the while avoiding the inconvenience of traveling to the airport with multiple bags. Plus, you know the stuff will be at your lodgings when you arrive.

Aspen/Snowmass Luggage Express offers a variety of shipping options, with the preferred option being 2-Day Air for inbound bags and Ground for outbound. This allows guests to have their bags arrive at their lodging property just before their check-in, and allows additional savings on the return leg. This program will be offered to all guests traveling to or from Aspen/Snowmass, regardless of whether their trip was actually booked through Stay Aspen Snowmass.
