Italy's famously chic Madonna di Campiglio ski resort has a number of special "ski free" deals available over the coming months.

The cost of a six-day Superskirama skipass will be included in the price charged by the areas hotels or travel agencies from 13-21 December 2008 and 28 March - 5 April 2009 when booking accommodation direct during that period.  The Superskirama pass covers half a dozen ski areas in the region - in total some 340km (213 miles) of piste.

Besides Madonna di Campiglio, the other lifts included are at Folgarida-Marilleva (part of the same ski area), Ponte di Legno-Tonale-Presena (currently reporting some of the best snow in Europe with over seven feet of powder on upper slopes), Pejo, Monte Bondone, Pinzolo, Andalo-Fai della Paganella, and Folgaria-Lavarone.

A Madonna di Campiglio Pass only is still extensive enough with 155km (nearly 100 miles) of excellent lift-linked terrain included.  That offer is available from 6-14 December or even over Christmas from 22- 28 December 2008, as well as from 31 January- 8 February and from 22-29 March 2009.

Another special offer is for women only on Ladies day, 13 December 2008.  All female skiers receive a free one-day Superskirama ski pass on that day.

Madonna di Campiglio received 74 cm (30 inches) of snow by the end of November.  The snow is 50cm (20 inches) thick on upper slopes.
