Want to ski when the rates are cheaper? Families looking for inexpensive ways to go skiing should take a peek at Red Lodge Mountain in Montana. The resort, which sits within easy reach from Bozeman, Billings, and Cody, Wyo., offers two packages that target families.
The resort's Family Values package bases its rates on quad occupancy, making it best for a family of four. The package is good for a two-night stay and two days of skiing with rates as low as $43.50 per person per day. (Double occupancy packages start at $56 per person per day.)
The Family Values package is available only during the resort's shoulder seasons. Its rates are good from opening day through Dec. 23 and from Mar. 23 through Apr. 12.
Red Lodge also offers their popular Let Them Be Free package. This ski and stay combination give your kids ages 12 and under free lodging and lift tickets. This package is available starting at $54 per person per day based on quad occupancy. It's also available for $69 per person per day for only double occupancy.
The kids ski and stay free package is only available Jan. 1 through Feb. 12. It also requires a two-night minimum stay.
