The annual Jackson Hole Winter Carnival packs the streets of downtown Jackson for its winter celebration. The event takes place Jan. 29 through Feb. 1. Spend your days skiing or riding, then join the celebrations at night.
Staying at Snow King Resort puts you in the midst of the celebration, and the resort has put together a package just for the event. The package includes lodging at the Snow King Resort Hotel, daily breakfast, airport shuttles, tickets for the resort's tube hill, and admittance to the Winter Carnival Kick Off event.
The town's Winter Carnival centers around a sled dog race through the streets of Jackson. It's the first race of a nine-day event that stages a race in a different Wyoming town each day. Marvel as 20 sled dog teams race through town and finish at Snow King.
Hit the Kick Off of the carnival at the National Museum of Wildlife Art Thursday night. Then, walk to town Friday evening for the celebration in the historic Town Square followed by the first stage of the 14th Annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race. Catch a bus back to the resort to cap off the night with a torchlight parade and fireworks.
The package costs $59 per person per night based on double occupancy. Taxes are added on to the rate. Call Snow King Resort at (800) 522-KING (5464) to make reservations.
