The Northeast and Midwest continue to take a beating thanks to lake effect snow. Warm in the West until midweek when the Pac Northwest gets a new round of storms. RC

Northeast

The pile on of lake effect snow continues in the interior Northeast, with the heaviest snow expected in NW PA and Western New York. The forecast calls for up to six inches by Tuesday evening. Heavy snow is also expected in the mountains of West Virginia. Action is due to stay in region through most of the week, with another system moving in from Alberta on Thursday. Highs 20's to 40's.

Midwest

Lake effect snow is also in the mix for the Great Lakes this week, with most of the action in the UP, western lower Michigan and northern Indiana. Six inches or more (with locally heavier amounts) are in the forecast. High's mid 20's.

West

Warm weather and fire danger remain in the forecast until mid week, then a series of storms are due for the Pac Northwest, bringing rain, mountain snow and cooler temps. Dry weather in the forecast for the Rockies as well.
