Heavenly believes that good food is fuel for a life well-lived, and with that philosophy in mind, the South Tahoe resort makes sure that what is being served up in its on-mountain eateries is made of the highest-quality ingredients, produced in a healthy and sustainable way.
Last season, Heavenly instituted a program whereby all meats - beef, lamb, poultry, pork, and deli - served on the mountain were free of antibiotics, added hormones, and artificial ingredients and preservatives, and all dairy products - milk, cheese, yogurt, etc. - were certified organic.
This year, Heavenly expanded its Appetite for Life healthy food initiative by eliminating transfats in the cooking oils at its on-mountain restaurants.
Now that you know the food is good for you and your family, you might want to know that you can feed your kids for free at Heavenly.
When parents book a three-day, three-night vacation through Heavenly's parent company, Vail Resorts for any time period this winter season, they will receive up to $30 in dining credits per child per day for use at on-mountain restaurants.
If the folks opt to stay at The Ridge Tahoe, Heavenly's lodging property, they will get an additional $15 per child per day credit. This offer is based on at least one adult and two kids per room, and must be booked by Dec. 14.
