The Magog-Orford B&B Association, the Eastern Townships Tourism Office and the ski resorts of Bromont, Orford, Owl's Head, and Sutton have launched a new ski package.
Here's the deal: Stay four nights, enjoy four hearty breakfasts at the B&B of your choice, and choose from four major ski resorts each day at a starting price of $223 per person in Canadian dollars. (That's 12 to 15 percent less in U.S. dollars.)
Luc St-Jacques, head of the B&B Association, said visitors have a choice of more than 20 participating B&Bs in the towns of Magog and Orford offering this package throughout the 2008-2009 ski season including the Spring Breaks.
The only blackout dates for this offer are from Dec. 26, 2008 to Jan. 4, 2009.
St-Jacques said, "Magog-Orford offers a superb ski town setting from which to establish base camp, with its lighted ice skating path bordering Lake Memphrémagog, and its many restaurants, boutiques and spas."
The Eastern Townships of Quebec are about a four-hour drive from southern New England, up I-91 through Vermont. They offer a surprisingly exotic ski experience, given the border crossing and prevalence of French language. Americans should check the document requirements for re-entry to the United States - they're fairly simple, but also fairly inflexible.
