Head out to Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colo., Dec. 7 - 14, 2008, and be part of one of the nation's largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities.

Hosted by Disabled Sports USA at the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado, The Hartford Ski Spectacular welcomes more than 850 registered participants annually. The weeklong event includes learn-to-ski/board and race programs, Nordic skiing, youth development camps, sanctioned USSA NorAm races, PSIA National Adaptive Academy for Instructors, mentoring training, and banquets. The 13th Annual Corporate Challenge Team Race composed of event staff, participants, sponsors, media representatives, and VIPs .

Participants of all ages are encouraged to enjoy snow sports made accessible by adaptive equipment and lessons from seasoned professionals and skilled volunteers. It's a family-friendly environment as kids and parents alike learn what fun can be found on the slopes, regardless of the nature of a disability.

The cost is $35 for members of DS/USA, $60 for non-members.  FYI: Vail Resorts offers a five resort-unrestricted season pass for people with permanent disabilities for $299 and a five day pass for $199.  Each pass is eligible for one companion ticket at $40 per day, and that companion must be skiing with the adaptive pass holder at all times.
