Frosty On the Slopes

Resorts in this article: Durango Mountain Resort, Wolf Creek Ski Area

Purgatory near Durango has had a couple of feet of snow since the beginning of the year and the mountain is 100% open with all 85 trails and 10 chairlifts. The Pitchfork Terrain Garden is also now open with rails, kickers and the resort's halfpipe. Temperatures have been dipping below zero across the state which is downright cold! If you are out in the below freezing conditions, make sure to layer your clothes with good base layers, and warm socks. Outer layers should be warm, water resistant and comfortable. Wear a hat or helmet (or both). Mittens are warmer than gloves. Cover your face with a neck gaiter and wear goggles.
