At A Glance

When: Jun 1, 2009

Cost: 349 Swiss Francs (218€)

Thanks to great snow conditions, this year's ski season on Mount Titlis above Engelberg opened 11 October 2008. Engelberg has a selection of  "Autumn Early Skier" deals with a month of the season already under its belt.

These include Stöckli Ski Test Days where you can test the latest Stöckli brand new models for 2008-09 out on the slopes on the weekends of 22 and 23 November, 29 and 30 November, 6 and 7 and 13 and 14 December.

These are charged at from 349 Swiss Francs (218€) per person for a package which includes two overnight stays (double room with breakfast) in a category B hotel, a welcome drink, a two-day ski pass, trial runs with the newest skis for 2008-09, a technique course with a Stöckli expert, and video analysis of your performance. Stays also can be completed in Category A hotels, such as the Ramada Regina Titlis, for an additional 50 Swiss Francs (31€) per person.  Or you can stay in a C category hotel, like the Hotel Bellevue or Ski Lodge Engelberg, for 50 Swiss Francs (31€) less than a B class hotel per person.

Engelberg, as is increasingly common with Swiss ski centres, mixes the best of old fashioned standards of service and quality with the latest in new technology on the mountain, including the already legendary rotating 'Rotair' cable car/tram, which turns through 360 degrees as it ascends to 3020 metres (10,000 feet) to access skiing on the Titlis glacier.
