Sölden Stages October World Cup Racing Again

Fresh snowfall in the Alps has boosted snow cover at Europe's glacier resorts and allowed for some non-glacier ski areas to open early. Sölden, which was one of the first to cancel World Cup ski races a year ago, already staged the season's first Parallel Giant Slalom of the 2007/2008 NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup. In the final of the first ladies Parallel Giant Slalom of the NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup 2007/2008 on the Rettenbach glacier in Solden it turned out to be a pure Austrian final: Marion Kreiner from Graz defeats her team and room mate Heidi Neururer and secured herself the first victory of her career.
