Welcoming everyone from world cup racers to freestyle snowboarders and speedfreaks this season, the race training season at Copper Mountain is officially underway. Local, regional, national, and international teams will be training on the slopes of Copper as the premier site in North America this time of year for race teams, with skiing and snowboard groups on the snow from 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. every day.

The world's best ski racers, Olympic hopefuls, and the sole member of the Jamaican ski team, turned out for the Spyder ski wear inaugural Speedfreaks training camp at the GS Excelerator lift Nov. 3.  The sole member of the Jamaican Ski Team, Errol Kerr, is poised to be a serious medal contender at the 2010 Winter Olympics. This vibrant 21-year-old was chosen by Spyder to help him realize his ski dream.

Upcoming Copper events include:

A NorAM race Nov. 19-20 with many world cup riders competing, as well as a NorAM Level 2 Disabled event Dec. 8-9. 

The U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, now in its 12th year, takes place Dec.12-13. It will be televised on NBC Sports and Versus, and features the top riders in America, including Copper's Clair and Dylan Bidez, vying for $300,000 in cash prizes. 

Copper also will host the Paul Mitchell Progression Session Dec. 13.
