Learning how to ski or snowboard is tough enough for someone who has never tried the sport before.
Toss in the cost of rental gear, lift ticket, and lessons and you could ratchet up the apprehension level several notches.
But the folks at Snoqualmie have a program to make things easier on the neophyte skier or snowboarder: Their EZ Ski/Ride 1, 2, 3.
The three-day program, which can be any three days you like, includes lift tickets for Snoqualmie's beginner lifts at Summit Central and Summit West, equipment rental (boots and boards), and lessons. All this for $119. (As a comparison, three days of lift tickets alone could cost a person around $150 or more.)
Graduates from the EZ Ski/Ride 1, 2, 3 program can score deals on season passes, lessons, food, and equipment, as an extra benefit.
The program will be held at daily at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (and 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday) at Summit Central starting Dec. 26. The initial lesson will be held at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. weekend and holidays, with lessons 2 and 3 on a daily basis at 1 p.m. at Summit West.
