It's Ski Show Time In Sacramento

The Sacramento Ski and Snowboard Show makes its annual return to Cal Expo. The Sacramento Ski and Snowboard Show makes its annual return to Cal Expo.

'Tis the season - for ski shows.

The Central Valley's largest annual winter expo, the Sacramento Ski & Snowboard Show, will take place at Cal Exposition Center Fairgrounds Nov. 22-23.

The seventh annual presentation, a one-stop shopping experience for everything winter-oriented, features the usual booths and exhibits featuring the latest gear from manufacturers and the latest information from winter mountain resorts in the Sierra and beyond.

There also will be other distractions, such as a mini-film fest, a teaching ramp with free tips handed out by instructors from Heavenly resort, a million dollar gear, clothing, and accessory sale, a climbing wall, and the ever-popular tire-chain installing contest.

You also will have the chance to win a heli-ski trip to Valdez, Alaska, or a Sierra backcountry adventure tour with the Tahoe City-based Pacific Crest Snowcats.

Tickets are $15 for adults - there's a $3 discount if you purchase them at Any Mountain stores - and $3 for children 6-11. You will receive a voucher worth $79 good for a restricted midweek adult lift ticket for Northstar or Sierra-at-Tahoe, with the purchase of an adult admission.

Show hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
