Families can take advantage of an early Christmas present for their young children over the opening weekend of the season in the beautiful Swiss resort of Villars on the 13th and 14th of December.
Children under nine years old can stay for free in their parents' family room. They also get their lift pass, ski and boot rental, tuition, and a plat du jour (dish of the day) lunch for free. Do not worry if your children are older because parents and children, nine or older, pay 10 Swiss Francs (€7/£5) each for each of ski and boot rental, tuition and lunch. The ski pass is still an excellent value at 20 Swiss Francs (€12/£10) and there are special rates on accommodation for older children too.
There is a special Villars Charity Night gala dinner with celebrity friends of Villars Saturday , Dec. 13.
Families are welcome all winter in Villars and the ski pass remains free all season for kids under nine, one of the most generous deals in the ski world. Adult or children beginners can practise for free at two dedicated ski areas, one in the centre of the resort, the other at Frience where there is also a special lift capable of towing your child in a toboggan to the top of the slope so that parents don't have to pull their child uphill for hours on end.
