One Stop Guide For Snow Tubing, Sledding And Snowplay

Snow tubing is popular at Whistler-Blackcomb, BC. Snow tubing is popular at Whistler-Blackcomb, BC.

There are more ways to have fun in the snow beyond skiing and snowboarding.

Tubing, sledding, building snowmen, having a snowball fight, taking a snow walk, and snowmobiling are just a few alternatives.

Most resorts have a tubing park, sledding hill, or other snow-play park, with many operating a surface lift to tow riders back up the hill for repeat runs. Asking a local for tips on finding the best sledding or tubing hills is always an option if something less crowded and off the beaten path is more desirable.

Consider some of the many alternative snow activities offered in and around ski towns if the conditions aren't optimal on the slopes; if the kids aren't in the mood to ski or snowboard; or if this year's trip to the mountains requires a limited budget.

I've got to agree with Snow Hunter - this is definitely lacking as a one-stop guide. Or even as a guide. I appreciate the links to other articles - but even THOSE were lacking. I live in the northeast - I know plenty of the resorts around here have non-ski/board snow activities, but there is NOTHING listed. I used to live in Colorado - worked in the ski industry - and know you are really missing a lot of activities there. A one-stop guide should include specifics - what you can do where. Not general ideas on how to find snow fun. Try again!!
