Al Bano Carrisi, the internationally successful Italian singer, will be making his debut in the Austrian Tyrol this Christmas.

Kicking off the winter season in the Seefeld Olympic Region is the Romantic Advent Nov. 28 to Dec. 26, 2008. This atmospheric event is characterised by advent markets and Christmas concerts. One of the most popular aspects of the event takes place Dec. 20 - a pre-Christmas concert by one of the most well-known voices in Italy, Al Bano Carrisi, who will sing in the Seefeld Kurpark (spa gardens).

Accompanied by a string ensemble, Al Bano Carrisi will perform sentimental Italian classics such as ‘Sempre, Sempre' and ‘Felicita' as well as other hits. The Italian singer has been inspiring his audience for more than 40 years, but this will be his first appearance in the Tyrolean Mountains.

Further events in the Seefeld Olympic Region this winter include the 10th cross-country opening event sponsored by Sport Wedl, Dec.12-14. The event features day lessons, wax presentations, and test stations for the companies Atomic, Exel, Salomon, and Fischer. Visit Seefeld's event page for more information.

The third Seefeld Ski Tour Race will be held Dec. 19. Hundreds of ski tour fans will make the pilgrimage to the third evening ski tour race held by the Cross-Country and Tours section of the Seefeld Ski Club at the Seefeld Rosshutte. Fitted with head torches, the participants must conquer altitude differences of approximately 504 metres and 702 metres on two different courses. Spectators can watch the event from the Rosshutte mountain restaurant.
