Elk Mountain Says Learn To Ski When Young

Learn to ski or ride while young at Elk Mountain. Penn. Learn to ski or ride while young at Elk Mountain. Penn.

Elk Mountain's staff of more than 75 instructors use the American Teaching System that takes skiers and riders from never-ever status to full control of movement.

The resort says, "First-time skiers, established skiers, or snowboarders looking to learn or fine-tune their skills can do so with a lesson from a member of the Elk Mountain Ski School. Our school is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America."

The school has programs for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities, with limited class sizes to allow instructors to focus on individuals.

Elk says, "The perfect time to learn to ski is while you are young. And our staff wants to make your child's skiing experience fun. We offer programs that allow parents to enjoy themselves while their children learn to ski with confidence."

These programs include:

Pre-Scouts for ages 3 to 5, with one-hour private lessons beginning at 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m., for $73.

Scouts/Rangers for ages 6 to 12, with half-day or full-day sessions that combine learning and fun, for $67 half day or $95 full day.

Childrens programs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hourly babysitting is offered on weekends and holidays. Advance registration is required.
