La Molina will be the first ski resort in the Pyrenees to host the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup this winter.

This Spanish ski resort will be kicking off the White Circus with the Women's Alpine Skiing World Cup Dec. 13-14 which involves four disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, Super G, and downhill.

The IPC Disabled Alpine World Cup will follow Jan. 12-15, 2009. Medals are awarded in three disabled categories: sitting, standing, and visually impaired.

Events will take place in La Molina's Supermolina Stadium, which has  organised other events for the International Paralympics Committee in the past.

The Snowboarding World Cup FIS will be the first time that halfpipe and boardercross events will take place in the Pyrenees. Spectators will see the new Superpipe Alabaus in action March 12-15, 2009, along with the new boardercross route in the Alabaus area. These events prepare the way for the hosting of the 2011 Snowboarding World Championship.

The World Cup is considered the premier competition for alpine ski racing, particularly during non-Olympic years. Ski events for disabled skiers provide spectators a true inspirational experience. Ski equipment is adapted specifically for these athletes.
