The German magazine, ADAC Reisemagazin has pronounced the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park in Kaprun a winner of its ‘Snowpark' category 2008/9.

The Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park beat off stiff competition from Les Deux Alpes and Davos/Jakobshorn. The park comprises the DC Central Park at 2,515 metres, the Roxy Park at 2,650 metres, and the Glacier Park at 3,030 metres.

Following good snowfall at the beginning of October this year, the Glacier Park is now open and offers 30 obstacles and seven lines, with 13 jumps, 17 rails and boxes. The DC Central Park and Roxy Park are scheduled to open mid-December.

 the first event highlight of the season will take place at the Glacier Park Dec. 12 to 14,when the world's best female snowboarders will compete in the ROXY Chicken Jam Europe.. 

The newest addition to the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park is a 15-metre super-pipe with 5.5-metre walls which is to be built at the Sonnenkarbahn slope in late December 2008. There will also be new lines for advanced and pro riders. A new pro line is to be built with its own entrance and three kickers from 12 to 15 metres plus a hip. Altogether, ten jumps and 16 rails'n'boxes will be erected at this park.
