Kitzsteinhorn Skiers Surf At 2,450 Metres

Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn means free Internet now. Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn means free Internet now.

Zell am See-Kaprun has opened a brand new Internet terminal ‘Internet@free' at the top of the Kitzsteinhorn, its highest mountain.

The Alpincenter is a popular place to meet on Kitzsteinhorn and now provides an Internet terminal and a wireless local area network which can be used free of charge. Skiers will no longer have to wait until they've returned to the valley to send their latest ski photos back home or have a chat with family or friends.

The Alpincenter at an altitude of 2,450 metres, offers panoramic views of the valley below and also features a collection of bars, restaurants, and shops. Zell am See-Kaprun Tourist Office says: "Internet@free is the icing on the cake of the manifold gastronomy and shopping offers at the Alpincenter." That sort of says it all, doesn't it?

The Kitzsteinhorn reaches a dizzying height of 3,000 metres. Zell am See-Kaprun offers 18 pistes stretching 132 kilometres linked by 56 cable cars and lifts. Freestyle skiers and boarders are also very fond of the Glacier Park at 2,900 metres with its 23 obstacles.

Every year Kitzsteinhorn kicks off the winter season with the ‘White start Kitzsteinhorn' - a weekend of special events on the glacier.
