These will now be held in Val d'Isere on the planned dates. Val d'Isere itself was unable to stage events pre Christmas. The fact that Chamonix still can't stage the race when it is reporting snow depths of 120 - 180cm (Four to six feet) and more snow falling may surprise some, but the problem is now possible snow quality rather than quantity on race day. "We have rain up to an altitude of 2,500 metres," said a Chamonix official.
