16 inches (40 cm) of fresh snow fell overnight on September 6 to the surprise and delight of ski fans, who are waiting nervously for the 07-08 winter to begin. The SkiWelt is one of Europe's lowest major ski areas and had some of the most challenging conditions at the start of last season.
