Mohawk Mountain Triples Up

The venerable Cornwall resort of Mohawk is installing the CTEC triple chair that carried riders up Loon's North Peak from 1984 to 2004.

It will replace the 3,000-foot-long Carlevaro-Savio Mohawk Double familiar to skiers at the resort founded by Walt Schoenknecht in 1947.

That lift was damaged by a tornado in 1988, and repaired in part with help from Mount Snow in Vermont, also founded by Schoenknecht.
