Arapahoe Basin has plunked down $1.2 million this season to improve services for the 2008-09 season. A-Basin has added 300 parking spaces connected to the resort via a pedestrian tunnel under Highway 6. The tunnel will make for safe, easy walking access to and from the base area. Additionally, the resort will have shuttles available to take guests from the upper parking lots to the base area.

After catching a shuttle to the lift, guests can catch some rays on the new south facing sundeck at the Black Mountain Lodge. The 1,754-square-foot deck will provide seating for 100 patrons and is constructed from recycled materials.

Head over to Montezuma Bowl once you've refueled A quad, fixed grip lift was installed in the summer of 2007 to transport the many skiers who experienced Montezuma Bowl last season to the summit. The 400-acre area increased terrain by 80 percent. There's new snowmaking for the Sundance terrain to allow for more beginner skiing.

Arapahoe Basin's snowmaking is an airless system which uses 20 percent less electricity. Resort officials say they use less water for snowmaking than any other ski resort due to their strict water policies.
