Wolf Mountain near Powder Mountain in Eden, Utah, has made some major improvements for the 2008-09 season.
Knowing that their resort can't compete with the big boys for expert terrain, the beginner hill has focused on just that: beginners. They've expanded their beginner learning terrain, incorporated a more convenient skier/guest drop off area and continued improvements to its terrain park.
In addition, the Wolf Mountain Learning Center offers one of the best values in ski and snowboard education. With the $200 "Get on Board" Pass, a new skier or snowboarder can take three lessons including equipment rental and receive a free season pass at the end of their lesson series.
Wolf used to be called Nordic Valley until Wolf Creek Resort took it over as part of their 3,000-acre master-planned residential and resort community in Ogden Valley. Visit Wolf Mountain's Learning Center page for more information.
Another family-friendly/family-owned resort, Beaver Mountain, also made some changes for this upcoming ski season. To accommodate those large Utah families, Beaver covered their large deck and added more indoor seating and a whole new wing onto their lodge. They are also building a smaller, covered deck area all around the structure.
