For the past three autumns, San Francisco - a town noted more for its seaside ambiance and pleasant Mediterranean climate than anything remotely Alpine or mountainous - has played host to a rather unlikely event: world-class skiers and snowboarders hucking big air off a monster snow-covered jump.

The City by the Bay once again will be the place Saturday Oct. 18, when some of the world’s top-rated ski and snowboard big-air grabbers will gather for Icer Air, the action sports, music and lifestyle event.

However, unlike the past two years, where the show took place in AT&T Park - the home of the San Francisco Giants baseball team - Icer Air IV will be located across McCovey Cove from the ballyard in Lot A.

Still, attendees will be treated to the same shtick: big-air ski and snowboard competitions, freestyle motocross, skateboarding, and BMX events featuring a lineup of Olympic and X-Game athletes, interactive exhibits, a beer garden, and a winter resort-oriented consumer trade show with booths from many High Sierra resorts represented. Icer Air will feature a bigger and more diverse musical line-up than past events, showcasing a wide range of musical acts and performers including Cool Kids, K’Naan, Men Women & Children, 3OH3!, and DJ Spider.

“Icer Air has incredible momentum right now,” says event creator Glen Griffin. General admission tickets are $28 a pop - there’s a four-pack option for $88 - and can be purchased at Icer Air's ticket page.
