Many resorts in the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee area - Alpine Meadows, Diamond Peak Ski Resort, Homewood Mountain Resort, Northstar-at-Tahoe, and Squaw Valley USA, among others - are less than an hour’s drive away from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

A convenient way to get from one to the other is the North Lake Tahoe Express, which offers daily, year-round, scheduled shuttle service to and from the Reno airport.

Three routes, which run from 3:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily, include stops at major properties along Lake Tahoe’s West Shore and at Squaw Valley, Kings Beach, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Tahoe City, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe Vista, Truckee, Incline Village (Diamond Peak) and Crystal Bay. Pickup and drop-offs are scheduled for the Truckee train station and Truckee Tahoe airport as well.

Getting on the bus is easy: visit the North Lake Tahoe Express Activity Tickets page to select your route. You must call (866) 216-5222 if your order is within 12 hours from the time you need the service.

The cost is $35 per person one-way, or $60 round trip from the airport to your North Tahoe-Truckee destination. North Lake Tahoe Express also offers a frequent user/locals card for $100 that’s good for five trips within a 12-month period.

Attention shoppers: Another North Lake Tahoe Express service includes regularly-scheduled trips ($15 one way and $18 round trip) to the Summit Sierra shopping center in Reno, which offers a wide variety of shopping and dining for Tahoe-area residents.
