New Gondola For SkiWelt Super Slope

New Salvenbahn II lift for SkiWelt New Salvenbahn II lift for SkiWelt

The Austrian resort of SkiWelt has added a new eight-seater cable car for the winter 2008-09 season.

The ‘Salvenbahn II' lift, complete with 47 gondolas and heated seats, will transport passengers to the top of Hohe Salve in just five minutes. e skiers and snowboarders will have direct access from here to a new super slope measuring 5.5 kilometres.

On completion of the new lift, the partnership between SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental (91 lifts, 279 kilometres of slopes) and Kitzbühel (55 lifts, 168 kilometres of slopes), will be one of the three biggest interconnected ski resorts in the world. The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental will be up there with Les Trois Vallées and the Megéve-Mont-Blanc area.

A shuttle service will be arranged from the end of the slope to the Hochbrixen Valley Station to ensure all skiers and snowboarders easy access to the valley lift station. A conveyor belt and a drag lift will also transport skiers from the end of the slope in the area of the Brixen bathing lake directly to the new valley lift station. The old one-seater chairlift was removed.

Visit the SkiWelt Web site for more information about the projects.
