Camelback Ski Area Adds Guns, Saves Fuel

Cambelback Mountain Resort is installing 110 low-energy snow guns to its snowmaking arsenal, which will reduce the area's use of diesel fuel used to power air compressors.

The resort is also expanding its partnership with Burton Snowboards and Salomon Skis. Camelback is now the only Pennsylvania resort considered a Burton Women's, Adult, Youth and Freestyle Learn to Ride Center. The resort has purchased more than 150 women-specific Burton LTR boards with Stiletto bindings, and will offer women- and freestyle-specific instruction. Camelback also purchased more than 2,000 pairs of front-entry Salomon ski boots for women, men and toddlers, and nearly 700 pair of X-Wing 500 series skis.

Camelback also has a new Prinoth Bison X Terrain Park Groomer, new and additional lighting on the Oak Grove Halfpipe and has set aside more than 20 acres and 500 feet of vertical to terrain parks and pipes.
