This exciting night time event is held in Schladming every year and attended by 50,000 spectators, including sports fans, celebrities, and media. The event has become one of the highlights of the World Cup tour.

Winter sports fans flock to Schladming to support Austrian ski heroes like Mario Matt and Benjamin Raich. The after-race party is almost as well known as the event itself. Schladming becomes one big open-air party and a large tent is erected in the centre of town.

Many skiers and snowboarders to Schladming book holidays to coincide with the event. The resort offers a diverse range of skiing, from attractive tree-lined slopes to challenging downhill runs.

Schladming also has recently won the vote to host the 2013 FIS World Ski Championships, having tried and failed for the 2009 and 2011 years. The Austrian resort received 10 out of the 16 votes and fended off competition from Italy, Switzerland, and the United States.

The World Cup Night Slalom is set to take place Jan. 27, 2009. For more information and tickets visit the event Web site.
