The Teton County Board of Commissioners agreed on Feb. 8 to 33 conditions regarding Grand Targhee's proposed expansion. The resort will be limited to building only 450 dwellings; of those, 80 percent must be short-term rentals.
Owner Geordie Gillett submitted an application to the county more than three years ago to expand the resort on 120 rural-zoned acres to include 875 units and 200,000 square feet of commercial space. The commissioners dropped the number of units to 450, which also includes employee housing. They also cut commercial property to 150,000 square feet.
