Jackson Rocks!

Photos

Spent 4 days on the mtn in Jackson Hole last week and had a blast! After wanting to learn how to snowboard for years... I finally broke my cherry at Jackson Hole! I've surfed for over 25 years, and never imagined I could find the same thrill with any other sport, but I must admit, snowboarding has grabbed me by the b**** and won't let go!! I didn't think it looked very hard, but decided to take a half day lesson just in case. After an hour I was shredding down the mountain like nobody's business! Even my instructor couldn't believe I've never been on a snowboard before. I have to say, surfing is a lot more difficult and it took me months to even LOOK like I knew what I was doing, let alone be proficient at it....that took years! Snowboarding, I caught on quick and was flying down the mtn after only a couple of hours. My girlfriend on the other hand is a little more clumsy and was pretty banged up after the first day of boarding. She spent the last 2 days of our trip sitting in the hot tub and in front of the fireplace with a good book while I was carving up the slopes from the moment the lifts opened until the last one closed! I just couldn't get enough!! It was like the first good wave I rode when I finally got good at surfing! The adrenaline was back with a vengenance and I feel so fortunate to only live 90 miles away from Jackson Hole because I'll be back in February for another round! In the meantime, I'll have to spend my weekends honing my skills at Kelly Canyon, which is only 20 minutes away. The powder at Jackson was so soft and dry....it felt like I was riding on clouds! I brought my dig camera, but was having way too much fun to stop and take any pictures. I did however take some with my cell and here they are for your viewing pleasure! :)~ I'll be back in a few weeks....
