late snow on the Alps

well this winter I decided I would not work again as a ski instructor in Switzerland. Cost of living compared to revenues... I was clever: not many snow falls so far ... ... which means only 3 runs opened, and this means not many skiers who want to take lessons! I was in Crans-Montana beg. of December and it was like summertime, green and blue. Then one snowfall and not so mild temps, snow making machines could work a bit. But can you realise that even Val d'Isere, France, (1850m alt.) could not host the world cup event (Men DH race) because the week before there was not enough snow nor cold temperatures! Now when I watch TV, it seems some French resorts in the Alps are lucky to have white stuff on their hills, and thousands of tourists. Crans has also many tourists as usual at Xmas New Year, but most of them walk, drink tea or go shopping. Well, not my hobby! If I can't ride a board this month, I'll go ride my windsurf board, weather is so nice by the Med. sea. Anyway, snow will come, and I'll spend a month or 2 on the slopes. To be cont...
