Waiting

Nov 2, 2006 | By

Having last ridden at Kirkwood during Spring Break of 2006, I am anxious to get on the mountians and ride. One small problem, I have a serious anxiety to do something NOW. This is my first year working at a resort, I am on the graveyard shift making snow at The Canyons in Park City Utah. I work with some great bros from all over the USA and the world for that matter. But making snow is almost like being an alcoholic making beer. Every night we crank up the Sunday Rivers, HKD's and TA guns to build base snow for our November 18 opening. And everynight as I ride around on the four wheelers checking guns I am taunted by the fact that the season is still not here. Waiting sucks. However waiting is what I am used to. Originally from Michigan I have had the priviledge of spending massive amounts of hard earned money to ride all over the USA. Most of the time I have waited months for a trip, even seasons. But not this year, this year i decided why not spend a season where there is the "Greatest Snow on Earth," Utah. So check back with me for updates on Utah as I spend the entire season riding. The goal 100 days = to my total from the last 5 years combined. But for now I sit in the living room looking out the window at the Canyons and PCMR and wait. Wait for my crew to build more base and wait for God to deliver snow. Like Ski magazine said in its November issue "There are no atheists in ski towns in November."
