So many words for snow conditions and so few as seductive as powderlicious. Show up at White Pass today and you'll discover why so many get sucked in to the WP culture, the vortex, that keeps them coming back for a lifetime.
Where do words like powderlicious come from? Riders like Chris Talbot who has been ripping since he was 2 years old. Rumor has it that as a kid he spent more than a run or two eluding ski patrollers who were threatening to pull his ticket. Now, the tables are turned and he finds himself director of the White Pass Ski Patrol. Talbot spent his formative years exploring every cliff line, chute and creek bed at at the mountain. With a lifetime on the snow and a stint at NOAA along with extensive backcountry experience and avalanche training Talbot is masterful at defining snow conditions at WP. Check his report, updated most days by 10 am (after he's had a few hours to personally inspect and approve the powder), and ski his recommended run for the day. www.skiwhitepass.com.
