The savings are substantial - and the cost the same for 11 years running -- for skiers and snowboarders who like to carve their turns at Arizona Snowbowl

Through Oct. 19, any adult who purchases an unlimited season pass for the mountain above Flagstaff will get 43 percent off the regular price -- $399 versus $699. Other price-slashings benefit college students ($299 versus $499), middle and high school students ($249 versus $349), and senior citizens up to 70 years old ($299 versus $399).

Season passes for the 777 acres and 2,300 vertical feet of skiing and riding can be purchased through the resort's Web site, www.arizonasnowbowl.com/pdf/sp_2011_12.pdfwww; through the mail to Arizona Snowbowl, P.O. Box 40, Flagstaff, AZ 86002; at the Flagstaff Ski Swap that runs Sept. 23 through Sept. 25; or, at the Drury Inn & Suites Oct. 12 through Oct. 16, where early purchasers also can pick up their passes. Pass holders also get discounts at Telluride Ski Resort, Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, Monarch Mountain and Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort.

Improvements on the slopes and trails of Snowbowl include four new beginner and intermediate runs, one new advanced run, a new kids' adventure area, a new fleet of Demo skis and snowboards, and a new 450-conveyor belt in the Hart Prairie beginners area.
