The Pacific Northwest Division of the National Ski Patrol recognized the Lookout Pass, Idaho Ski Patrol in Montana with the 2007-2008 "Outstanding Patrol" for the Inland Empire Region. This is the second consecutive season that the all-volunteer Lookout Pass Patrol has received this award.

Individual patrollers also raked in the awards: Lookout Pass Patrol Director Dick Zollars received the Inland Empire Region "Outstanding Patrol Director"; Kirk Crum won "Outstanding Patroller"; and Kim Johnston received "Outstanding Patrol Instructor."

The Lookout Pass Ski Patrol, first formed in 1938, is among the original National Ski Patrol member organizations in the nation with Registration Number 009. It has approximately 90 members and an active ongoing candidate program for individuals wishing to join the patrol.
