A non-profit organization, the Mon Valley Ski Club fosters recreational skiing and similar activities in Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding area and promotes good fellowship amongst skiers.
On-slope events (there's a dance contest Friday evening in the Foggy Goggle) kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the 60 Second Race at the Wagner Beginner Area, followed by the McDonald's Saucer Race at 11 a.m. also at Wagner.
The Freestyle Jam takes place at noon at The Spot Terrain Park with a freestyle mogul contest, pipe jam and "phat" air throw down. Each event is $10 or $25 for all three and park passes are required.
There's a team tube race at 4 p.m. at Wagner and awards for all events are handed out at 5 p.m. in the Foggy Goggle.
On Sunday, events include speed skiing at 9 a.m., McDonalds Snoopy race at 10 a.m., duel slalom at 11 a.m. and a mountain bike dual slalom at noon.
Don't miss the costume obstacle race at 2 p.m. at Wagner which promises to be the highlight of the weekend. This year's theme is "Women in History," so expect to see Mother Teresa, Clara Barton and maybe even a Flying Nun crashing the gates.
Awards for Sunday's competitions will be handed out at 5 p.m. and there will be a season pass drawing at 5:45 p.m. All who compete are eligible for the season pass.
