The North Carolina Ski Areas Association Gold Card costs $775 and is good all season long at all participating areas.

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort in Mars Hill, Ski Beech in Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain Resort in Avery County, Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, Sapphire Valley Ski Area in Sapphire, and Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock have joined in this offer.

The Gold Card has no blackout dates even for weekends and holidays, and no catch beyond the limited number of passes - 125 - that will be sold. Purchasers may ski or ride at any or all of the six resorts throughout the season.

Gold Cards are available through the North Carolina Ski Areas Association. Call the Gold Card coordinator at (828) 898-4521, extension 227, or visit the NCSAA Gold Card page for more information.

Each participating area also offers its own season pass deals, with prices generally lower if passes are purchased in early fall.

The Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina are the highest in North America east of the Rockies, and offer a snow sports season that runs from Thanksgiving to springtime. State-of-the-art snowmaking supplements average annual snowfall of 60 inches.
