Construction for Sun Valley's new gondola on Bald Mountain is underway. The lift will start at the base of River Run and climb to the Top Terminal Plaza at the Roundhouse Restaurant. That means they'll have to build two terminals, new restrooms, and a new access to the Roundhouse.

The cut line already has been made with trees removed, but since it will be only a month or two before the snow falls and approval for the base plaza and restaurant remodel still needs to be finalized, the gondola itself won't fire up until the 2009-10 ski season.
