Sick of bending over to the airlines and all those baggage charges? Pack your boots in your carry-on to save on that 40-pound checked-bag allowance, then rent when you get to the resort.
Consider these options instead of toting your own ski equipment on your next vacation and paying those additional fees:
Monarch Mountain has increased their demo fleet for the coming ski season by 300 percent, giving guests an even sweeter selection of the newest skis and snowboards.
Winter Park Resort has updated the quality of their rental program, having purchased more than $250,000 worth of new gear. All rental skis will be under the new Salomon Syncro rental system, which means faster fittings and a more effective rental process. In addition, the resort has added 250 kids' skis, boots, and Burton snowboards, to their rental fleet. All renters receive free "ski up" storage at the base of the slopes.
Copper Mountain guests can rent at any of their three villages, making the rental process convenient. A new Web-based rental program, www.skiandboardrentals.com, means you can rent prior to arrival at Copper. Just book rental equipment for pick-up in locations throughout Colorado's Summit and Eagle counties, including the resort.
