A major league jazz fest is coming Labor Day weekend at Whistler with more than 30 concert performances on tap. Jazz On The Mountain At Whistler includes free and ticketed concerts at indoor and outdoor venues throughout the British Columbia resorts.

Performers include guitarists Kevin Eubanks (of Tonight Show fame) and Stanley Jordan; contemporary jazz masters The Rippingtons and Spyro Gyra; jazz veterans Oliver Jones and the New Gary Burton Quartet and many more.

The recently opened Whistler Olympic Plaza is the main ticketed venue. A Masters Class series will offer more intimate performances and class sessions with six jazz masters. There will be late night performances at Millennium Place and the Mallard Lounge in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. An Acoustic Jazz series will be held at the North Shore Credit Union. An interactive family-friendly Street Festival is also on the agenda.

The Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain will host a BBQ experience featuring jazz performers Ali Milner (Sept. 2), Chris Smith (Sept. 3), and the Night Crawlers (Sept. 4) from 5-8 p.m. each evening.

Enjoy brunch at the Barefoot Bistro Sunday, Sept. 4 headlined by Lorne Lofsky and the Bistro's regular pianist Cameron Chu.

The Family Zone will be open from noon to 6 p.m. each day of the festival in Whistler Olympic Plaza with carnival games, an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, balloon twisting and more.

Lodging for the Jazz Fest starts at $109 per night for a hotel room. Three-day concert passes are $160 per person or $65 for a single day. Packages including concert passes for the three days start at $293.
