Cypress Mountain near Vancouver, B.C., is scheduled as the official freestyle skiing and snowboard venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. The resort plans to open a new base lodge this winter, near the bottom terminal of Eagle Chair, in preparation for the event. Construction of the 48,000-square-foot lodge began this summer.

The resort also beefed up their grooming fleet, adding two more snowcats, which translate into more groomed slopes. Four ski runs - Benny's, Black Fly, Meteor, and Humpty Dumpty - also were improved, and the parking lots have been expanded.
