Big Sky aims to crank up their lifts Thanksgiving Day. "Right now, the plan is to get open for Thursday," said spokesman Dax Schieffer. "As soon as temps drop again, the snow guns will fire up, and we'll try and get as much terrain open as we can." Spots on the upper mountain currently total up to three feet of snow.
Big Sky prohibits all recreational activity including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and snowmobiling on Big Sky private property while closed. All early season skiers and riders are encouraged to explore the public forest service land in the area.
